FAQs
COMMISSIONS AND ORDERS
Q: Do you take on bespoke commissions?
A: Yes! Commissions are at the heart of what I do. Whether you have a piece of furniture you'd like transformed, desire a custom artwork, or have another creative project in mind, I'd love to discuss your vision. Please contact me with details of what you're looking for.
Q: What's the process for commissioning a piece?
A: The process begins with an initial consultation where we discuss your ideas, preferences, and requirements. I'll then provide a quote and timeline. Once you're happy to proceed, a 50% deposit secures your commission. I'll share progress updates throughout the creation process, and the remaining balance is due upon completion before delivery or collection.
Q: How long does a commission typically take?
A: Timeframes vary depending on the complexity of the project and my current workload. Small artwork commissions might take 2-3 weeks, while furniture restorations can take 4-6 weeks or longer. For urgent requests, please contact me to discuss availability, I'll always try to accommodate where possible.

Q. Can you host workshops at external venues?

ABOUT MY MATERIALS
Q. What type of paint do you use on furniture pieces?
A: I exclusively use high-quality, specialist furniture paints that are specifically formulated to provide excellent coverage, durability and a beautiful finish. These paints are designed to adhere properly to furniture surfaces and withstand daily use.
Q. How durable is the paint finish on your furniture?
A: All my painted furniture pieces are properly sealed with either varnish or wax (depending on the desired finish) to provide protection against scratches, spills and general wear. This sealing process adds significant durability to the piece, making it suitable for everyday use while maintaining its beautiful appearance. However, as with any painted furniture, proper care is required to maintain its finish.
Q. How should I clean and maintain painted furniture?
A: For regular cleaning, simply dust with a soft, lint-free cloth. For more thorough cleaning, use a slightly damp cloth with mild soap if necessary, then dry immediately with a soft cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners or excessive moisture which could damage the finish. Coasters are recommended for hot or wet items.
Q. Can your painted furniture be placed in direct sunlight?
A: While the furniture paints I use have good UV resistance, I recommend avoiding placing pieces in areas with intense, direct sunlight for prolonged periods to maintain the colour integrity. Occasional rotation of your furniture can help ensure even exposure over time.
Q. How do I care for a piece of your alcohol ink art?sunlight?
A: While alcohol inks are naturally not lightfast, I apply multiple coats of UV-resistant varnish to significantly extend their lifespan and protect the vibrancy. For maximum longevity, I recommend displaying artworks away from direct sunlight and in areas with consistent temperature and humidity. With proper care, your piece will maintain its beauty for years to come.
PURCHASING & DELIVERY
Q: How do I purchase a ready-made piece?
A: Ready-made pieces are available through my website, and at "& by Donna Reeves," shop or by contacting me directly. Each listing includes dimensions, materials, and pricing details. You can secure a piece with payment in full.
Q: Do you offer delivery services?
A: Yes, I can arrange delivery throughout the UK. Delivery costs are calculated based on location, size, and weight of the piece. Local delivery or collection is also available. All delivery details and costs will be discussed and agreed upon before finalising your purchase.
Q: Do you ship internationally?
A: I do consider international shipping for artwork pieces on a case-by-case basis. Due to the unique nature of furniture items, international shipping for these requires special arrangements. Please contact me to discuss options if you're interested in an international purchase.
