The Ware Kindess Card Project
Welcome to The Ware Kindness Card Project, a community driven initiative brought to life through the Arts in East Herts grant.
I’ve created this project to offer a series of hands-on art sessions where locals of all ages can come together to create handmade, abstract art cards filled with positive, uplifting messages.
Thanks to the grant from East Herts Council, every workshop is 100% free to attend. Using fluid art, mixing inks, mindful doodling, and abstract art techniques, absolutely no prior painting or drawing experience is required for you to get involved.
Once the separate sessions are complete, your finished artwork will be turned into cards and distributed into "Kindness Trays" across public hubs in Ware, such as the library, GP surgeries, and the train station to spread unexpected joy and creativity to strangers throughout our community.
The Inspiration
With things being tough for so many right now, I wanted to create a warm, welcoming space where our community can simply come together and enjoy a much-needed breather to connect, recharge, and just be around others.
Whether you're a teenager needing a safe, screen-free escape, an older adult wanting a friendly chat, or a new mum looking for a bit of well-deserved "me time," this is all about bringing us together through art.
The Goal
The focus is entirely on creative freedom, connection, and having fun. Absolutely no painting skills required!
Using simple fluid art techniques, we'll get hands on mixing beautiful inks as well as minful doodling to create abstract art cards, which we'll then fill with our own positive, uplifting messages. It's a completely low-pressure environment where you can just get stuck in and try something new and share some positive energy.
The Outcome
After the workshops, we’ll place the finished pieces in special "Kindness Trays" at everyday spots around Ware, like the library, GP surgeries, and perhaps some high street shops. It’s all about spreading joy throughout the town, leaving an unexpected surprise to brighten a stranger's day exactly when they might need it most.
